About
NAME | Via Lata |
LOCATION | Via Lata |
Description
The small hill, overlooking the West Cove of the harbour, was the less healthy area in Brindisi since it faced Sirocco winds. Nevertheless, on this high ground, the Roman found the suitable place to build Via Lata, the historic centre street which reminds us the Roman Triumphal street.
During the centuries, the street has housed several aristocratic mansions, still recognisable today by their emblems placed on the portals. These days, in this street, rise some bed and breakfast useful to stay for some days and visit the city and its surroundings.
